I recently had a medical for ESA, it's the second one as I had one last year too. Following this about a month later I received a letter which was ambiguous to say the least!! I had to phone up for them to explain, I'm usually good at deciphering difficult letters but even the person on the other end found it confusing. The letter was saying that I would remain in the support group until assessed again next year. It would appear that I only have 7 months of the year before I start the whole process again which takes around 5 months from beginning to end, how very stressful!
Laughably I received a sheet of paper giving me directions to get to my medical, this was based on a fair bit of walking and 3 changes of busses! There was even a bit stating how long it would take to walk between bus stops etc, did they not read my application!! I did tell this to the assessor who laughed as well!
Anyhow, my reason for posting; I have received a letter from job centre plus asking if I would like to attend a work focused interview, it's not obligatory as I am in the support group and I will not lose benefit if I refuse! I really don't understand that I am deemed unfit to work but can decide to attend a work focused interview, has anyone else had this?
The whole thing is confusing and stressful.
Thank you for listening.
